PAINTINGS

Art is not the subject or the object, but the verb, the doing of it. My work, all in watermedia, is broadly varied, and therefore not easily categorized. All of it is important to me, from my Big Women figure series to my abstract still lifes, to my outdoor sketches and Florida miniatures.

There is a commonality in my concern for shapes, colors, composition, and feeling. My role models are varied and my tastes in technique and concepts equally so. The techniques I use range from spatter to gouache resist and traditional transparent watercolor. I vary them as they suit my concepts.

Above all, I like to believe that I am most respectful of art when I am myself, and creating what only I can create.

I hope you enjoy these paintings. As always, there are slight color inconsistencies between the original and the computer representation. Also, I am represented by three galleries, http://www.SourceThatArt.com which is part of a fine website (www.acorkabove.com) with offerings from gourmet items to fine art, and Fogle Fine Art and Accessories in Jacksonville, Florida. If you are in Orlando, please feel free to come by my studio at Comma Gallery, 813 Virginia Dr. (ph.407.894.4505). Comma also represents me locally as well as other fine artists. Representation is noted in the description of each picture, and links to the galleries' websites are included below the group of pictures. Where no gallery is noted, contact me directly.
