MAKE YOUR WATERCOLORS COME ALIVE!
Course Description

2009

About the Workshop Content:

This fun, intense, multi-day workshop will focus on giving your painting more impact through specific exercises focusing on:

The Design Frame In Composition
Using Shape and Color in Design
Understanding Tension and Dominance in Painting

This will be a hands-on work session, with frequent reviews, and one-on-one direction, plenty of discussion and illustration. Lectures and demos will be presented as needed, and students are encouraged to join in with their own ideas and opinions.

Together we'll seek ways to make your art better in your own style!

About the Classes:

My classes are always positive. I do not dwell on what's wrong, but try to find how we can (together) improve on what you have done, and build on what is already good in your work. I ask students to review their work (only if they want to), because I believe we remember what we verbalize and that what we've done right is what's important! So, I ask students to discuss what they've done right, what they LIKE about their work.

If art is drudgery, we won't keep doing it. I want my class to be an enjoyable, stimulating and challenging experience. This requires a lot of work on the students' part, too, but I've never had a complaint about the work. I believe students only recognize the fun part.
